2009 Glenwood Springs Rallye – Results
AWARDS
Kumpf Award for Outstanding MG: This award was presented to Phillip Coombs for his blue 1959 Twin Cam MGA roadster.
Barker Award for overall Performance: This award was presented to Phil Bates and Dave George from Idaho Falls, ID, in their MGA. They took first in the Tour class for MG’s and first in the Funkhana. Bates and George won the Barker award in 2004 with the same MGA.
Longest Distance Award: This award was also presented to Phil Bates and Dave George from Idaho Falls, ID, in their MGA. They drove 605 miles to the rallye start line in Arvada, CO.
Hard Luck Award: The Hard Luck award went to Kristin and David Sommerfeldt, who’s radiator blew a hole in it as they was backing out of the driveway going to the start line for the rallye.
Diamond in the Rough Award: This award was presented to Rod and Debra Timby from Palmer Lake , Colorado, driving an all original Datsun 240Z.
Featured Cars: Three Twin Cam MGA’s were present. A Mineral Blue one owned by Phillip Coombs, a Black one owned by Paul Dierschow and one in Old English White owned by Joe and Cathy Gunderson.
