Tres. Report

Despite losing Al, we still have money.  2009 report isn’t available yet, but all bills from last year are paid.  We have $7560 in a 2 year CD,  $4306 in a savings account and $1602 in a checking account.

Al will be staying on as membership chairman, we currently have 221 members.

Old Car Council Report:  Dick Fritz
Lousy weather for last week’s OCC meeting so Dick didn’t go, but they did have enough people show up to have a meeting.  Greg Atkinson is going to be putting out an email newsletter.

Old business.

Christmas Party  Kingsley Meldrum offered out a big thanks to Kathy Gunderson, Bill Dudley and Larry Frakes for their help last year.  He also offered a big thanks to Bob Gloyd for all the effort he put into MG 2009 and presented him with the coveted Hazel Marble award.

MG Mileage competition.
3rd place:  Al and Patty Wulf 4837 miles
            2nd place:  John Fraioli 10, 056
1st place:  Mike and Elizabeth Thompson
We will have this contest again next year so if you want to get involved just get your mileage info to jack Knopinski.

Bob Gloyd mentioned that John Twist’s wife just passed away after a 2 year battle with Cancer.

Upcoming events:

Forney Museum Dust and Shine this weekend.  There will be some parking battles with the stock show in town but park in the back of the museum.

Superbowl Party  February 7th at the Knopinskis house at 3:30.  Bold move on Jack’s part since he volunteered before clearing it with his very understanding wife.  Luckily Kathy agreed to go along with it.  Bring stuff to share and have a good time rooting on a team that’s not the broncos.

Midwinter Blahs party will be at the Kerr’s house but we haven’t figured out when.

Glenwood Rallye June 11, 12, 13th.  Logo has been done, press releases will be going out and everything will be on the web site.  Rallye has been written and the tour is progressing nicely.  It will be an all Ladies tour this year with a guarantee of no Beatles questions.  Chris Shutte will be taking over the banquet details as Stace had to back out.  Chris will be needing some help though so Jackie Jones will help out.  Jonathan Lane has agreed to help solicit door prizes from Moss and Sports Car Craftsman.  Jackie Jones will also help develop a method to help find partners for people looking to do the tour or the Rallye.

Volunteers  We’re looking for volunteers to help with some of the events that we usually do.  DD has changed her name to O’Riley and will be organizing the St Patrick’s day parade.  We are still looking for a Tour Meister for the Progressive Garage Tour as well as a Tech Session Czar.  We are also looking for any other new events that people want to put together.  Jonathan Lane is going to try to finally organize the Trash Restaurant Tour that he’s been talking about doing since the 1980s.

There was a suggestion that we may want to try to organize a Facebook page as a way to reach newer and younger members.  There was also talk of creating a paypal account though most people felt that it would be too much trouble and cost to be really effective.

Swap Shop

There are lots of cars for sale on the web site.

Jack Kahler mentioned that Bob Blackwood is selling his immaculate 2007 Mini.  Looking for something bigger.
e
Stan has a can of AeroKroil penetrating oil for $12.

Lou is looking for a set of HS6 Carbs.

Shaft and Fink Award

Brett and Mara won the Shaft award when their Acura was totaled by an Audi and they had to go to San Francisco to get a replacement.

Frank Oakley won the Fink awards after showing up in a wheelchair with a Neuroma in his foot.   Looks like he’s going to be out of commission for a while.

Meeting adjourned at 8:30.
